Reference Denture Technique Straight to Final

The patient’s existing denture is the reference. Take records and scans at the first visit, and deliver the final milled denture at the second.

Initial Appointment

Establish the desired vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO).

Take a wash impression if needed, using the appropriate tray adhesive.

Reseat the dentures and verify midline, incisal edge position, VDO, lip support, esthetics, and occlusion.

Capture the bite registration. Scan each denture 360°, then scan both dentures together in the recorded bite.

Confirm all records and submit to AvaDent for design and final fabrication.

Delivery Appointment

Seat the final dentures and verify fit, retention, and function.

Adjust borders and occlusion as needed.

Deliver the dentures and provide hygiene, maintenance, and follow-up instructions.
