Try-Ins

Verify the design before the final.

Every AvaDent try-in comes from the same digital design as the final prosthesis. Check fit, function and esthetics with your patient before the final is made.

Three try-ins, one digital design

Adjust the teeth chairside, verify fit and phonetics, or show the patient an exact copy of the final hybrid.

Wagner Try-In

Conventional technique, digital finish.

Created by Dr. Stephen Wagner. The denture base is printed, the maxillary anterior teeth are printed individually and the mandibular anteriors as a block, all set in a special wax that softens in hot water, with no flame. Posteriors are printed, or a block of wax rims, depending on the patient’s needs.

Adjust the teeth chairside, then order the final denture. As few as three 30-minute appointments.

Questions clinicians ask

Which try-in should I choose?

The Bouma Try-In, our most popular, is a functional try-in to verify fit, phonetics and esthetics. The Wagner Try-In sets the teeth in a special wax so clinicians who like to move teeth can adjust them chairside. For fixed hybrid cases, the Hybrid Try-In is an exact copy of the final.

What is the difference between the Bouma and Wagner Try-In?

The Bouma Try-In is monolithic, one piece, fully milled or printed in the tooth color you choose. The Wagner Try-In has a printed base with the teeth set in a special wax, so they’re easy to adjust chairside.

Can my patient keep the try-in?

The Bouma Try-In can also serve as a spare denture for your patient.

Can I adjust a Hybrid Try-In?

Yes. Adjust it by grinding or adding material to verify function, occlusion, phonetics and esthetics before the final hybrid is made.

How do I order a try-in?

Select it on the Rx when you send a case in the AvaDent Portal. New to AvaDent? Create an account to get started.
